Reddit creator brief template: the job post that gets good creators to reply
Copy-paste structure for a Reddit promotion brief — what to include, what to leave out, and the five lines that make a creator with real standing say yes.

Creators with real standing get a lot of bad briefs: vague, pushy, or asking for something the subreddit bans. A good brief stands out immediately and gets a reply the same day. Here's the structure. It maps 1:1 onto the fields when you post a job.
The template
TITLE
Honest write-up of a [product category] for [audience] in [niche] subs
WHAT WE MAKE (one sentence, no superlatives)
A [category] that [does X] for [who].
WHO IT'S FOR (and who it's not for)
People who [situation]. Not for [situation] — say so if it comes up.
WHAT WE'D LIKE
[1] post and/or [N] comments over [timeframe]. A comparison / workflow / "what I use" post where we're one honest option. Your call on where and how.
COMMUNITIES WE HAD IN MIND (suggestions, not orders)
r/[one], r/[two]
BUDGET
$[min]–$[max] for the above. Open to your rate for ongoing.
WHAT WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR
No fake reviews, no hiding the relationship where the sub requires disclosure, no "guaranteed" anything. If it doesn't fit, tell us.
Why each line matters
- One honest sentence. Creators can smell “revolutionary” from across the board. Plain description signals you'll accept a plain post.
- Who it's not for. The single strongest trust signal to a Redditor. It also gives them the caveat their post needs to survive.
- Deliverables as numbers. “1 post, 5 comments, one-off” is a scope. “Some Reddit promotion” is a negotiation.
- Communities as suggestions. They know their subs. Let them redirect you.
- The “not asking for” block. It filters out the creators you don't want and reassures the ones you do.
After they express interest
You get their full profile — verify the Reddit account with the checklist on it — and they get your brand and contact details. Say hello on X, agree the specifics, mark them hired. The job closes itself when you've hired as many as you asked for. Background reading before you write: how to promote on Reddit without getting banned.
Questions people ask
- Should I name my brand in the brief?
- On BidPanda's board you can't — links, emails and handles are blocked so posts stay anonymous until a creator expresses interest. Describe the product category and the problem it solves; the creator sees your brand once they're interested.
- How much detail on the post itself?
- Give the angle and the boundaries, not the copy. Creators know what their subreddit tolerates; a script written by a brand reads like a script.
- Should I set eligibility?
- Yes — minimum karma and account age keep throwaways out, and picking the category and up to five subreddits means the creators who reply are actually in those communities.
